Oscar the Super Dog, named by my son…Oscar for short…is a special little pup. I had recently said goodbye to my most favorite foster dog, Lola. It was very hard for me to say goodbye to her, and I had serious regrets about letting her go (even though I knew she was with the most perfect family for her..sometimes the hearts wants what the heart wants, right?!). Lola being here made me realize that having two dogs is totally doable, and it worked better than I could have imagined. Lucy loved having a dog around that was smaller than her but still big enough to play. And Lola’s size was perfect for having two dogs in a townhouse. So, once I got over the heartbreak (ok, maybe I’m being a little dramatic here!), I decided that IF I could find another “Lola”-like dog, I would adopt. I casually looked, but wasn’t coming across any pups that could fit my needs. I was very specific in what I wanted, because I didn’t want my dog, my family, or fostering to suffer. Then came this email from the rescue group. It was an email, begging someone to step up for this dog. His name was Half Pint, he’d been in the shelter for about a month, and his time was up. He was basically a mini-pitbull, because his growth was stunted due to severe malnutrition. And, well, the rest is history really! I have no idea what happened to him in the past, and although it may have affected him physically, it definitely didn’t damper his personality! He is so sweet, a major cuddler, and just wants to be with me 24/7. Every day I tell him what a good boy he is, and I can’t imagine he was going to die for no good reason. He loves every person & dog he meets, and is a fast learner. I have big plans for my little pocket pit, including attending Good Citizen classes! Here are a few pics of Oscar the Super Dog!
