I recently received an AWESOME box of goodies from a company that caters to pets, and I am so excited to share what the pups got to try out!!
“Our mission is to amuse, explore, support, innovate, create, educate, celebrate and philanthropate… all in the name of the dog. We “romp the romp” by providing financial resources to those in need, educating consumers about canine-related issues, creating an array of non-toxic and recyclable products, and keeping the tails of “our pack” wagging. Planet Dog’s flagship initiative is the Planet Dog Foundation. Since 2012, PDF has donated more than $800,000 in cash and product donations. Our internal mantra of “think globally, act doggedly,” keeps us focused on the higher cause of why we entered this industry…wagging, drooling, sniffing, snuggling, howling, romping dogs.”
Don’t they sound awesome?! Well, they are! They sent me a box of toys for the dogs to try out, and I just can’t say enough good things about them. First of all, all of the toys were minty-smelling! So cool! Some of their toys are mint-flavored, to help keep your dog’s breath smelling minty clean! We have had the toys for a month or so now, and the dogs have yet to damage them in any way. This is major for me because Lucy shreds everything, and Oscar chews up everything. So the fact that we still have the 3 balls, all still smell minty, and all are in perfect condition (other then being slobbered on and dirty), is fantastic! These balls also have small holes in them, so you can use them as interactive treat-dispensers, if you choose to!
Then there was this weird orange half globe looking thing. It too smelled minty, and it is to be used as a treat dispenser. It is called a Snoop!
So, I put some treats in it, and let the Food Monster have a turn. At first, he was so consumed with getting to the food, that he kept getting his bottom jaw “stuck” in the dome…it was hilarious! (Like a suction cup almost, not really stuck!)
But then he realized that if he moved it around, he could get the treats out! This is a really great toy for Oscar because of his obsession with food. It makes him slow down, and have to think about how to get the food out. (I am proud to say that while he is obsessive, he is not aggressive at all! I am always able to take toys, bones, and food away from him, and he just wags his tail waiting for me to give it back!).
Next I gave Lucy a turn. It was much less entertaining, but that isn’t a surprise. She generally is not treat/food motivated, and she doesn’t care to figure out puzzles. (I have tried other ones with her.) She pretty much just stared at the toy, at me, and back at the toy…
Lucy enjoys the other minty toys more, but she has always been the dog that will play fetch for hours, so that’s no surprise!
There was also a box of Planet Dog Eats, “treats that hit the spot”. They are chicken & pumpkin pot pie flavor…perfect for the holiday season! I love that the box is made out of recyclable materials, just as many of their toys are.
Their products are all natural, made in the USA. This is very important, and if you haven’t heard about the total crap coming out of other countries, I recommend you do some research!
So, all in all, this house approves of Planet Dog products!! I highly recommend them, and you should check out their site! They are also very big into giving back, and they often donate funds and products to those in need. So, go buy some goodies for your furry friends! 🙂
